Chipotle Unveils High-Protein Menu Set to Launch on December 23

Chipotle is set to introduce a new High Protein Menu on December 23, 2023, targeting health-conscious consumers in the United States and Canada. This innovative menu features items with protein content ranging from 15 to 81 grams, including entrees, tacos, and the brand’s first-ever snack option, the High Protein Cup.

The new offerings cater to a growing demand for high-protein diets. Customers can enjoy a 4-ounce side of either Adobo Chicken or Steak, with the Chicken option boasting 32 grams of protein and 180 calories. Among the standout dishes are the Double High Protein Bowl, which contains an impressive 81 grams of protein, and the High Protein-High Fiber Bowl, offering 46 grams of protein. The menu also includes a High Protein-Low Calorie Salad with 36 grams of protein and a Double High Protein Burrito featuring 79 grams of protein.

Chipotle emphasizes convenience with these new items, which will be available in restaurants, via the Chipotle app, and through online ordering. In the U.S., pricing begins at approximately $3.50 for a Single Chicken Taco at select locations. The national weighted average price for the High Protein Cup of Adobo Chicken is reported to be $3.82.

The launch reflects the increasing interest in macronutrient-focused eating. According to Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s President and Chief Brand Officer, the new menu aligns with customer behavior. “For years, guests have used Chipotle’s customizable offerings to build high protein and fiber-filled meals on their own. This curated menu brings that fan behavior to the forefront with clean ingredients and flexible portions, making protein and other dietary goals easier to reach,” Brandt stated.

In an effort to further engage its customer base, Chipotle plans to feature creator and athlete orders in its app starting January 5, 2024. This initiative will highlight orders from notable figures such as pro basketball player Josh Hart, health creator Samantha Milton, and dietitian and bestselling cookbook author Kylie Sakaida.

With the High Protein Menu, Chipotle seeks to cater to the nutritional preferences of its customers while maintaining its reputation for fresh and customizable meal options. As the health and wellness trend continues to rise, this new offering positions Chipotle to meet the evolving demands of a diverse clientele.
