The highly anticipated Netflix House opened its doors to the public on December 11, 2023, at Galleria Dallas, marking a significant expansion of fan engagement for the streaming giant. Spanning over 100,000 square feet, this permanent exhibit features immersive experiences centered around popular Netflix shows and movies, including Wednesday, Squid Game, One Piece, and Stranger Things.
Dallas is now the second city in the United States to host a Netflix House, following the inaugural venue in Philadelphia. Prior to the public opening, the venue held a VIP event on December 9, welcoming media, influencers, and local celebrities, including actors David Harbour and Cara Buono from Stranger Things, as well as Alexandra Breckenridge from Virgin River. This exclusive gathering provided attendees a sneak peek into the various offerings of the new attraction.
Experiential Highlights for Fans
Visitors to Netflix House can enjoy a range of experiences, starting with complimentary entry. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a grand staircase adorned with artwork from various Netflix productions, creating an ideal backdrop for photographs. While general admission is free, guests can opt for two immersive experiences that come at a cost: Stranger Things: Escape the Dark and Squid Game: Survive the Trials. Each room costs $39 per person and takes approximately one hour to complete.
In the Squid Game room, participants engage in five different challenges, including the iconic Red Light, Green Light game, while the Stranger Things room involves a search-and-rescue mission for three lost characters.
The main floor of Netflix House features Netflix Bites, a bar and restaurant offering dishes inspired by various shows. Menu items include Red Bite and Green Bite chicken bites, Emily’s Italian Fling Salad from Emily in Paris, and a grilled pork dish named Huntr/x Power Up Ssam, reflecting the popularity of K-Pop culture.
Interactive Gaming and Merchandise
A dedicated section of Netflix House, called Netflix RePLAY, includes arcade-style games that have been themed around Netflix properties. Visitors can compete in interactive games such as a tug-of-war challenge inspired by Squid Game, a Bridgerton-themed ball maze, and a Floor Is Lava game.
For those looking for souvenirs, the venue offers a gift shop stocked with T-shirts, cups, keychains, posters, and replica props from beloved Netflix series and films.
As Netflix continues to explore new opportunities, including a potential acquisition of Warner Bros. Pictures, the venue may soon expand its offerings to include characters and themes from franchises like DC Comics and Casablanca. The opening of Netflix House in Dallas not only enhances the local entertainment landscape but also reflects the growing trend of immersive experiences in the streaming industry.
